The Woodland Project

Securing a sustainable future for our local woodlands in Corby has always been a challenge.  Funding was originally secured through the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA) and generous grant support from the Forestry Commission has meant that the Corby Woodlands Project has been able to bring forward the first phases of work, which have seen the project raise its profile to a national exemplar.  Some key achievements have been a fantastic engagement with local volunteers, securing the nationally recognised Green Flag and Green Apple awards and being recognised by the Royal Forestry Society in their Excellence in Forestry Awards for Community Forestry.  Please visit the Hazel and Thoroughsale Woods web pages for more information.

The parks and woodlands in the Corby Borough are now protected under the watchful eye of Foxy Forester our new mascot!  Look out for Foxy at all our major events and follow his face on the Oak Trail in Hazel and Thoroughsale Woods - click here for more information on the guided walks available.

Meet the Team! Corby Woodland Project is a small team with a very important task and all are committed to providing well managed woodlands for the residents and visitors of Corby.

Check out our Woodland Walks and Friends of Group pages for ways in which you can get involved!  We run regular family fun days through the summer holidays such as bug hunts, guided walks and forest school taster sessions.  Watch this space for upcoming events.

Send us your woodland wildlife sightings:  To conserve woodlands, we need to know what's there now.  Help us by sending in your sightings of Corby's woodland wildlife.  Email culture.leisure@corby.gov.uk
