The summer holidays are getting closer and we can feel Corby’s youngsters’ excitement as they are on the final countdown to their 6 week summer holiday! But parents, worry not, as Corby Borough Council doesn’t believe in boredom so we are on hand with a jam packed program of nothing but fun!
From Thursday 25th July, children can choose from a variety of activities throughout the borough, including the ever popular SPLAT Camp at Lodge Park Sports Centre.
SPLAT is always a hit with children aged between 6-14 years old. Open to anyone within the age range, youngsters can sign up and come along throughout the holidays (excluding weekends and bank holidays) and get involved in arts & crafts, football, cheerleading, Zumba and much more!
Specific times and all other information about SPLAT can be found on the Corby Borough Council website, www.corby.gov.uk/holidayactivities.
By using the above link, you will also find activities open to all ages at Corby East Midlands International Pool for those who fancy cooling off by diving straight into the water! From Supervised Diving, to Surf ‘n’ Turf, there’s bound to be something for our water loving little ones and of course the aqua tube will be open for some slipping and sliding throughout the summer.
For those who like to stay on dry land, there are lots going on all over the borough for everyone to get stuck into. From sporty activities at Lodge Park Sports Centre and West Glebe Park for those budding sporting stars, to arts ‘n’ crafts with the Happenin’ Project for those who love expressing their creative side.
This is only to name a select few of the activities that will be on offer throughout the summer - you can see all of our activities and sessions listed on the website, www.corby.gov.uk/holidayactivities.
Corby Borough Council’s Lead Member for Community, Cllr John McGhee, said:
“The summer holidays are back and as usual, we are excited to welcome youngsters from all over the borough to our holiday activities, whether it be at the Swimming Pool, the Sports Centre or elsewhere in the borough, with such a variety, there’s bound to be something for everyone so I hope to see lots of people get stuck in!”
