Corby Borough Council along with partners, F1 Modular, today marked the start of work on the site of a disused garage block at the head of Wilby Close in the Lodge Park area, Corby.
The latest regeneration project, will see the demolition of 12 garages to be replaced with a block of 4 modern, 1 bedroom council flats.
F1 Modular, the company undertaking the project with Corby Borough Council, specialise in the modular method of construction, which means all units, including kitchens and bathrooms will be built in a factory and then winched onto the site before the brickwork and landscaping is finished off, meaning less labour work will be visible to residents.
The project will be complete by Autumn 2019 and is funded by Right to Buy Receipts. The 4 new properties will add to Corby Borough Council’s housing portfolio and will bring the number of properties built by Corby Borough Council to 246 since 2010.
Once complete, all 4 of the new flats will be available for rent and added to Keyways.
