What is the purpose of the provisions in the Business and Planning Act 2020 for extending planning permissions and listed building consents?

The Business and Planning Act 2020 temporarily modifies the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 to enable certain planning permissions and listed building consents in England which have lapsed or are due to lapse during 2020 to be extended.  Please see download for further information.

Please note that from the 3rd of April 2017 the Council’s Planning Department is keen to promote  applications and payments via its electronic services, we will still accept hard copy applications for minor and householder applications, however we request prospective applicants contact the Planning Administration Team in advance of submission to discuss their needs and options available on 01536 464158.

We expect commercial applications for offices/retail/leisure/employment and major housing schemes to be submitted electronically.
