TRUSTEES SOUGHT
Corby VCS is an organisation that currently offers support and training to community and voluntary organisations in the Borough of Corby. We also provide a brokerage service for these organisations to recruit volunteers. We work with partners to inspire pride in our community and develop an interest in various activities within the Borough. We encourage partnership building for local organisations, which, through working together, will provide added value to the local community.
We lease and manage the Old TA Building, used by other organisations, and manage a voluntary driver car pool (mainly for hospital visits) and a shopmobility service.
The past year has been one of many challenges, including the fact that our HQ is up for sale by its owners and, very sadly and more recently, the passing of our Treasurer: we are seeking people who can react quickly to ever-changing situations and help shape policy going forward.
We are looking for Trustees who:
• have a good knowledge of Corby and the surrounding area;
• are interested in being an integral part of a voluntary sector infrastructure organisation which endeavours to help smaller community groups to start up, grow and flourish;
• have some knowledge (or be willing to learn) of seeking out funding opportunities for small organisations;
• are able to bring diverse skills and enthusiasm to help CVCS remain relevant and active in the community.
The positions are unpaid.
We usually meet quarterly but are currently holding meetings monthly to allow us to react appropriately and sufficiently quickly to the effects of latest government guidelines on our activities.
If you are interested in becoming a trustee or would like to learn more, please get in touch with us by emailing Mags@corbvcs.plus.com and we will send you a Trustee Guidance pack and application form by email or by post, if you give us a postal address.
