Anti-social behaviour covers a wide range of unacceptable activity that causes harm to an individual, to their community or to their environment. This could be an action by someone else that leaves you feeling alarmed, harassed or distressed. It also includes fear of crime or concern for public safety, public disorder or public nuisance.
This behaviour can have a negative effect on the quality of life of individuals and communities. It is therefore important to report anti-social behaviour you are experiencing at an early stage.
We want you to report any anti-social behaviour in the borough, please use our ASB reporting form. It is only by people taking the trouble to report incidents that a true picture of what is happening in the Borough can be established.
If an individual or a location becomes the subject of multiple reports, agencies will work together to try and address the problem. To do this the Hate & ASB Case Management Group (HASBAG) discusses individuals and locations where increased reports of these types of incidents are received.
There is a wide range of powers available to address the issues of Anti-social behaviour.
Help and information for victims of crime
Where possible we will protect your information sources, however, for certain legal actions, informants do need to be named, and need to give statements. You will always be asked if we can give your name and contact details. There are a number of groups who can offer support, either in initial stages or throughout court processes.
