UK Parliamentary Elections
Corby Borough falls within the Corby constituency for the purposes of the UK Parliamentary Elections. The Corby constituency includes all of Corby Borough and most of East Northamptonshire District including Oundle, Thrapston and Irthlingborough. The next UK Parliamentary General Election will be in May 2022.
Northamptonshire County Council Elections
There are 5 County Councillors representing Corby Borough on the Northamptonshire County Council. The borough is divided into 5 divisions (Corby Rural, Corby West, Kingswood, Lloyds and Oakley). The County Councillors serve a 4 year term in office.
Corby Borough Council Elections
Corby Borough Council consists of 29 Councillors, divided over twelve wards. Borough Councillors serve a 4 year term of office. Scheduled local elections for parish and district councils for May 2019 have been postponed in Northamptonshire due to a proposed reorganisation of local government within Northamptonshire County.
Parish Councils Elections
Within Corby Borough there are 7 Parish Councils (Weldon, Gretton, Cottingham, Middleton, Stanion, Little Stanion and East Carlton). Parish Councillors serve a 4 year term in office. Rockingham does not have a Parish Council; it holds Parish Meetings. Scheduled local elections for parish and district councils for May 2019 have been postponed in Northamptonshire due to a proposed reorganisation of local government within Northamptonshire County.
Police & Crime Commissioner Election
Northamptonshire elects a Police & Crime Commissioner responsible for the management of the Northamptonshire Police Authority. The Commissioner will normally serve for 4 years; the next scheduled election will be held in May 2020.
Occasionally the Government may call a national referendum for electors to consider a specific topic or question. A recent example was the referendum on membership of the European Union.
