It’s National Fishing Month so what better time to bring your youngster down to Corby Boating Lake to give it a try – you never know they might get hooked!

Corby Junior fishing Club in conjunction with Corby Borough Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for any young person in and around Corby to get into fishing this summer.

Throughout the summer holidays, as part of the ‘Get into Angling’ initiative, the club will be running weekly sessions on Mondays for 7 – 11 year olds and Tuesdays for 12 – 16 year olds, at Corby Boating Lake.

Each session costs just £1 and all of the bait, equipment and tackle is provided so you just need to book your place, turn up on the day and have a go.

Over the 6 weeks, the club’s licensed angling coach, Richard Hawkes will run through everything involved in angling and catching fish, giving participants the chance to not only catch their first fish but to learn all about the sport, have fun and compete against their friends too.

As part of National Fishing Month there will also be a Family Fishing day on Monday 7th August from 10am – 4pm and a Children & Disability fishing session on 28th August from 10am – 4pm.

These sessions will cost £1 for 20 minutes and spaces are limited so please book as soon as possible by calling Richard Hawkes on 07402 820 698.
