Covid-19: Business Grants for those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic

Release Date:
Thursday, February 4, 2021 - 13:15

Corby Borough Council is urging any local businesses adversely affected by the Coronavirus pandemic to check if they are eligible for any of the grants we are currently offering.

Yesterday, the Council launched its Additional Restrictions Grant scheme which aims to support businesses that have been adversely affected by Covid-19, but have not been eligible for the other support available throughout the pandemic.

This particular funding aims to help those businesses who, whilst they may not have been forced to close, have been severely impacted by the pandemic. This could include:

  • Businesses that supply and support retail, hospitality and leisure
  • Businesses in the tourism and events sector
  • Businesses required to close but do not pay business rates

The grant must be applied for online and the form can be accessed via the following link: https://my.corby.gov.uk/service/Additional_Restrictions_Grant__Discretionary_. Applications will be accepted until 12th February 2021.

If this is not a grant you would be entitled to, please ensure you check our website, www.corby.gov.uk/home/covid-19-coronavirus/businesses to see whether you would be eligible for any of the other grants we are able to offer.

Leader of Corby Borough Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said:

“During this difficult time, we understand that there are local businesses out there who are struggling to keep their business afloat and we want to ensure that all those affected are aware that there is help available to you. If you have not previously qualified for one of our grants, I am pleased to say that we are now offering a further Additional Restrictions Grant and would urge local businesses to check their eligibility and apply if appropriate. I would also urge all of those organisations who have not applied for any grant up to now to please look in to this and take advantage of the help offered to you.

“I hope this will help lots of organisations and I look forward to seeing the local economy get back on its feet in the future when the time is right.”
