Corby’s 11th annual Outdoors Festival will be taking place next week from 27th May – 2nd June and will include a wide range of outdoor activities to get all the family involved, including cycling, running and the popular walking programme.
The Festival will kick off with a free Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday (27th May) at East Carlton Country Park from 12noon – 4pm organised by the Festival’s beneficiary charity Lakelands Day Care Hospice. Come along and join in the family fun with archery, bouncy castles, arts activities, face painting, children’s rides and much more! And if your dog deserves a Crufts style accolade, enter them into the Lakelands Dog Show! Visit www.lakelandshospice.org.uk or the Lakelands face book page for more information.
Throughout the week there will be lots of opportunity to sample and appreciate some of the borough’s beautiful countryside and urban woodland areas and you can check out the programme of events at www.corby.gov.uk/outdoorfestival2019programme
Cllr Paul Beattie, Corby Borough Council member champion for Cycling and Walking said:
‘I’m pleased to be supporting this event. Corby borough is rich in open spaces in the town itself and also has the magnificent Rockingham Forest and Welland Valley on its doorstep. The Festival showcases the fact that you don’t have to travel far to get active outdoors and enjoy one of our parks or woodland areas, like our medieval Kingswood. It‘s a great way to gain health benefits at the same time.’
