Cllr Ray Beeby, former Mayor of Corby for the year 2019/2020 proudly handed over a cheque to Lakelands Hospice following a successful year raising money for his local chosen charity.

Despite having events in the pipeline which sadly had to be cancelled due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, Cllr Beeby still managed to raise a huge £8,000 for Lakelands following an array of different events including Dances, Raffles, Dress Down Days for staff at Corby Borough Council, a Fashion Show, Walking Football events and a Civic Ball.

Former Mayor, Cllr Ray Beeby, said:

“What a year! I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped along the way towards such an amazing final total. Whether you have helped to organise, attended, bought raffle tickets or shown support in any other way. This wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you. Lakelands Hospice is a charity close to my heart and I am proud to have raised this money for them. During a difficult period, I hope this gives the staff there a reason to smile and I have no doubts they will put it to fantastic use.”
