National Play Day is set to be bigger than ever for Corby this year as the Friends of West Glebe Park along with Corby Borough Council brings a whole festival of fun to for the all of the family to enjoy.
Come along to West Glebe on Wednesday 1st August from 12noon- 4pm to our FREE event jam packed with lots of activities for youngsters to get stuck into, from building sand castles in the giant sandpit, cooling off on the water slide, getting active and refreshed at the same time with our pedal powered smoothies to crafts with the Foxy Woodland Shop – and that’s only to name a few of the exciting things on offer!
As we’re bringing lots of fun to the park, we thought why stop there when we could bring the Corby Cycle Fest along too! Shows and displays will be put on by Corby Borough Council’s Health and Fitness Team, you will see the ‘Squirty Wirty Clown Show’ and the BMX Street Show by Danny Butler.
If the sun keeps on shining, why not bring some lunch and join the Big Healthy Picnic with Corby Borough Council? You can also bring your own bike to join in with Cyclefest activities on offer.
Corby Borough Council’s Lead Member for Community, Cllr John McGhee, said:
“Corby Borough Council knows it can be difficult and sometimes expensive to keep the youngsters entertained throughout the summer holidays, which is exactly why we are so keen and happy to work with partners in order to put on events such as this one. This is a whole afternoon of fun and is absolutely free to attend so I really hope to see lots of family’s there taking full advantage.
“A big thank you to the Friends of West Glebe along with officers at Corby Borough Council for successfully gaining this funding and arranging an event that’s bound to be a great success.”
