Approved application for Homeless Hub in Corby

Last night Corby Borough Council’s Development Control Committee gave permission for a gymnasium in Corby to be turned into a Homeless Hub.

 

The Homeless Hub which was applied for by local homeless charity, Corby Nightlight, will be located on Cannock Road, Corby and will provide focused and targeted help and assistance for homeless people within the borough. The Hub will hold over 20 beds and will have shower and toilet facilities.

 

Spokesperson for Corby Borough Council, said:

 

“Following a thorough report, councillor’s agreed this application at last night’s meeting. Members agreed that the proposals will offer a considerable step forward in addressing the recognised increasing homelessness issue in Corby. The Council will now work with Corby Nightlight to ensure that the use will only operate within the agreed conditions, in a neighbourly manner and will strive to ensure that it becomes a successful community asset for all of Corby.”
