Members of Corby Borough Council’s Grants Committee will consider recommendations to award local organisations with funding to help their cause next week at a Special Grants Committee (Tuesday 7th May).

Following the Council’s annual Budget meeting held earlier this year, the committee approved a ‘One Off Grants Pot’ of £300k to be granted to local, not for profit organisations throughout the borough.

The Council has had an amazing response with 83 applications received totalling over £2m in requests for support.

After a thorough assessment of applications that were all excellent, 20 organisations have been recommended for Members to consider.

Corby Borough Council’s Lead Member for Community, Cllr John McGhee, said:

“It’s not surprising with the borough being home to countless voluntary and community groups that do such excellent work, to receive such a phenomenal response  to this One off Grants Pot.  Assessing these bids to decide which and which not to support has been an incredibly difficult task. However it was welcome news that we were in a position to offer the One Off Grants Pot and I hope that those successful really benefit from this extra funding.”
