‘Pots of Gold’ - Get your drawing displayed on the refuse vehicles across the borough!

Corby and Kettering Borough Council’s Shared Street Scene Service have seen more and more creativity from both borough’s younger generation whilst out on the frontline emptying your bins!

To encourage the artistic talents of the borough, the Street Scene Team are launching a competition to keep spirits high during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We’re asking all residents across both boroughs to stick their artwork to the lid of their household’s black bin. Entries will need to be stuck on your bin lid on your usual collection day.

Corby Borough residents will need to present their entries on their black bin only week commencing 29th June 2020.

Kettering Borough residents will need to present their entries on their black bin only weeks commencing 29th June 2020 and week commencing 6th July 2020.

The picture needs to be an original drawing or anything to do with refuse and recycling. maybe you could draw a picture of the teams collecting your rubbish during lockdown!

The competition is aimed for all residents of the boroughs will be judged in the following categories:

  • Nursery/ Infants: age 1-7
  • Juniors: age 8-11
  • Seniors: age 12 +

Entries must have their name, age and address included on their picture. The collection crews will pick their finalists from each age category. All finalists will receive a special household wheelie bin (which can be used!) with their winning design on. The finalists will then be passed onto councillors involved with Environmental Services and one winner will be selected per category in each borough. The winning pictures will be printed on to the refuse collection vehicles so that the whole borough can see their work!
