Youth projects - volunteering
There are opportunities to get involved as a volunteer both within the Council and in the community in Northampton.
These include:
- work experience opportunities with the Council. These may be as part of your school curriculum, self-directed, part of University or college courses, shadowing for a day or longer placements. Whether you are interested in working with children, young people or developing projects in your area talk to us. In return for your time, the Council can offer: Appropriate training, development and support, opportunities to be part of a team, meet new people, make new friends and valuable work experience. It may be possible to get accreditation or to count your time towards external accreditation.
- Northants Voluntary Youth Action (NVYA - formerly known as Millennium Volunteers) is able to accredit volunteering. Whether you're looking to build on what you're into, or want to find out about advertised volunteering opportunities, this organisation may be able to help you. They accredit short-term and longer periods of volunteering for young people. www.nvya.co.uk
