Development control
The Development Control Section deals with the processing of planning applications. The Development Control process takes into account the Borough's policies and guidance|, Regional guidelines, and Central Government Planning Policy Guidance and Statements. Each scheme is assessed on its individual merits. This is to ensure development within the Borough is in both the public and environmental interest.
The Development Control Section deals with planning applications, provides advice on whether planning permission is needed or has been given and information with regards to Changes of Use, Advertisement Consent and Works to Trees.
From the 1 October 2008 there will be changes to the householder permitted development rights. For further information please visit the Planning Portal web site. |[External link].
An Enforcement Officer works alongside the Development Control Section and investigates complaints about things done without planning permission and pursues formal action against breaches that cause significant problems.
