All Councils give free advice and information to landlords and letting agents on the standards they require and how to reach them. They also respond to complaints about substandard conditions in HMOs.
If you live or are intending to live in a House in Multiple Occupation, please contact the Council to make sure that the house has been inspected and meets the current standards.
Corby Borough Council will take action against landlords of HMOs as and when is necessary to bring them up to a satisfactory standard with regard to fire safety, amenity provision, repair and management.
The local authority and the Fire Officers carry out periodic safety inspections on homes in multiple occupation to ensure that they are safe to live in and meet the legislative standards.
